The 48th edition of Giffoni Film Festival in Italy has kicked off with four Iranian films on board.

The official competition section of Giffoni 2018 is set to showcase Iran shorts, including 'Moon Said: Blop Blop Help!' by Reyhane Kavosh, Mehdi Heydari's 'Chocolate' and Mohammad Kheimehgahi's 'The Last Class'.

According to an earlier report, 'Mr. Deer' by Mojtaba Mousavi was also shortlisted for the competition round of short animation section of the event.

A batch of 100 films across the globe is to vie in the competition section of the festival held under the banner 'Aqua'.

More than 5,600 children from 52 countries around the world attend the festival.

During the festival, the children and teenagers watch the films, learn about the filmmaking process, and are called to judge them and award the best ones with prizes.

Giffoni International Film Festival is the largest children’s film festival in Europe.  

The 48th Giffoni is currently underway until July 28, 2018 in Italy.
